Guided Tour: Picasso Museum & Joan Miró Foundation
Two huge names of contemporary art closely connected to Barcelona
This guided tour will first take us to the Montjuïc Hill, where the Joan Miró Foundation stands, surrounded by lush gardens, in a magnificent location overlooking the city. The numerous works on display illustrate Miró’s style and evolution throughout his life, allowing an easy approach to this not always accessible artist.
The Picasso Museum will transport us to another world as it is housed in five refurbished medieval buildings, in the trendiest part of the Old Town, which we'll also take time to explore.
The works shown are mostly early works, dating back to Picasso's youth, which he spent in Barcelona and to most people, constitute a genuine and pleasant surprise. Unexpected and not to be missed.
Both museums close on Mondays.
Prior reservation required for parties larger than 10.
The feel: Museums are where you make the most of the money spent on a tour guide. Not only, will he/she tell you interesting anecdotes and comments about the works and the artist, but will also take care of the formalities and walk you past the long waiting lines.
