Guided Tour of Barcelona’s Gothic District
Where it all started...
This is basically a Walking Tour of the Old Town or "Casc Antic". For a series of reasons, Barcelona has managed to retain and maintain one of the biggest -and not only in size but also in architectural diversity- Medieval districts in Europe.
Starting with the Gothic Quarter properly speaking, which grew around the Roman forum, your Barcelona Tour Guide will take you for a pleasant walking tour through the narrow winding lanes of the Call -the medieval Jewish Quarter- past the former Royal Palace and to the Cathedral and other historical landmarks.
After visiting the Cathedral and its Cloister, we'll leave the Gothic Quarter properly speaking for another part of the Old Town: the Ribera (shore) district, around the Sta Marķa del Mar church, where sailors, traders and craftsmen lived and worked during the Middle Ages.
Finally, our steps will bring us back to the Rambla to rest at one of its open air terraces and watch the crowds and the show!
The feel: the Old Town is Barcelona’s most popular and liveliest area. Our tour will initiate you to Barri Gotic’s huge maze of narrow streets and lanes.
