Spanish Village of Barcelona Another of the traditional attractions of Barcelona that has been able to withstand the passing of time and has as much success now as at its beginning during the 1929 World Fair.
The idea was to build a village whose houses and buildings would be replicas or copies of existing houses and buildings from all over Spain, so the visitor to the World Fair could to a virtual (already!) trip throughout the country without moving from Barcelona.

The project managers put great care in choosing the buildings they were to reproduce: they had to be representative of their style and region and match with the neighbouring ones in the Village. It even took them longer to choose them than to build the place, which was built as a temporary attraction for the Fair in just over 18 months.

Spanish Village of Barcelona, main square Many handicraft shops and workshop complete the feeling of being in a real village, quite far away from Barcelona. They offer a unique selection of handicrafts. There are also several restaurants and cafetrias, discos in summer and even a Tablao Flamenco.

On weekends, the Poble sponsors familiy oriented activities and performances and occasionally hosts corporate events.
