The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc

An engineering jewel to delight the eye

One of the main attractions of the 1929 World Fair, the Magic Fountain of Montjuic has not lost his attractiveness even compared to more modern attractions.

A great deal of the Fountain's charm lies in the fact it still relies on the illumination technology designed by engineer Carles Buígas, who conceived the Fountain. The Fountain only has white lights that are located inside 5-sided prisms, which generate all kinds of shades and hues as they rotate around the white lights.

Magic Fountain Schedule

Winter: October to April*
Friday and Saturday: 19:00 to 21:00h
Shows with music at: 19:00, 19:30, 20:00 and 20:30 h
* In January / February the Fountain may not operate due to maintenance operations.

Summer: May to September
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 20:00 to 00:00 h
Shows with music at: 21:30, 22:00, 22:30, 23:00 and 23:30h

The shows with music last about 15 min. Then there is a break until the next one. This schedule can be modified on special events.
